Santa Clara , Ca.—December 2003—Lin Engineering, the step motor specialist, is pleased to offer the 3509V. This 0.9 degree, size 14 step motor allows the customer to choose from five mounting options in order to fit their specific application.
The 3509V is only 0.82 inches thick and 1.44 inches squared. This bipolar stepper weighs a mere 0.27 lbs and possesses a holding torque of up to 16 oz-in.The windings of the 3509V are encapsulated with a thermally conductive ceramic based polymer which allows heat to dissipate at a faster rate.This allows for more aggressive windings in the same small package.
The step accuracy of this size 14 stepper is +/- 1.5 arc minutes compared to the competitor's accuracy of +/- 4.5 arc minutes at 1/64 microstepping. This is why Lin Engineering's 0.9 degree motor is considered to have the best microstep accuracy in the industry. Industries currently using this motor in their applications are the medical, optical, packaging and surveillance. |
