The 3609V measures 36.3 mm in diameter and is only 19.8 mm wide. Although this 0.9 degree size 14 motor is capable of up to 16 oz-in holding torque, it weighs a mere 0.27 lbs. The windings are encapsulated with a thermally conductive ceramic based polymer which allows heat to be drawn away from the windings. Thus, allowing for more aggressive windings in the same small package.

The step accuracy of this stepper is +/- 1.5 arc minutes compared to the competitor's accuracy of +/- 4.5 arc minutes at 1/64 microstepping.
