	OPTIONS
	Pole Damping™ Technology Pole Damping™ Technology (PDT) enhances step motor performance by dampening each full step in order to create a more accurate and smooth motion profile. Microstepping the step motor will optimize Pole Damping™ Technology. PDT outputs the correct amount of run and hold currents to the motor. Thus, it will overcome the step motor’s natural tendency to want to forcefully pull towards the full step ON position. Currently, the Silverpak 23D integrated motor + drive and the R325 Microstepping Driver contain Pole Damping Technology. For more information, click here

	Each Silverpak unit comes with the following cables: The designer's kit (sold separately) enables first time users to connect to the R525 via PC to program settings such as run and hold currents, microstepping, damping modes, and more. RS232 Designer's Kit (Lin p/n: RS232KIT-02) RS485-232 converter card (Lin Part number 083-00059) 18-pin cable to 3-pin cable for communicating (Lin Part number 090-00216) USB Designer's Kit (Lin p/n: USBKIT-02) USB485 converter card 18-pin cable to 3-pin cable for communicating (Lin Part number 090-00216) 6 foot long USB cable GUI Software: The GUI interface allows users to set step resolution, run and hold current, damping modes, to detect step pulses on rising or falling edge, to begin the motor running CW or CCW when powered on, to disable the unit upon a high or low signal.

PIN OUTS

A female DB-9 connector cable receives power and provides the control connections for the Silverpak 23D unit. Active signals are optically isolated. An open collector drive is required to provide pulses for Step, levels for Direction, and Disable/Enable.

Pin	Function	Description
1	PWR +ve	Motor Supply Voltage. +12 to 75 VDC
2	Ground	Power Supply Ground
3	Enable	Enable/Disable
4	Direction	Direction input. Default connection will rotate CCW. If this input is low, rotation will be CW. You can swap this by using the GUI interface and clicking the button “Forward Rotation/Reverse Rotation”. (Command DR)
5	Step	Step pulse input. The step clock input will receive a clock pulse input (TTL squarewave, 0 to 5VDC), where one pulse will move the motor one step.
6	Internal 5V out	5VDC output. Used to power Pin 7, the opto reference, if users do not want to use an external 5VDC supply. By using this to power the optos, the device is no longer optically isolated.
7	Opto reference *	5 VDC is required to power the optocoupler reference. This device is for sinking operation with a max input current of 15mAmps.
